This week we kicked off our partnership with The Silver Line, the free confidential helpline for older people, with a series of activities over the course of Silver Week to help raise money for the charity and increase awareness in the local community.
There was a range of different fundraising initiatives which included an afternoon tea attended by older members of the local community where they could enjoy light refreshments and speak to Damart employees. There was also a bake sale, a silver screen quiz and a ‘Wear it Silver’ day where we raised over £750.
The Silver Line was founded by Dame Esther Rantzen DBE in August 2011 as a plight to help prevent the isolation and loneliness of elderly people in the UK.
Ben Phillips, senior marketing manager at Damart, said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with a charity which resonates with our customers and all of our colleagues at Damart will be taking part in a variety of activities over the coming months to help support The Silver Line”
