April Stylist picks

Style inspiration brought to you by resident Stylist Julie Dickson

Wondering what wardrobe pieces to invest in this month? Or just in need of some outfit inspiration? Here’s the go-to picks our Stylist Jules will be wearing this Spring.

Check mate

Can a simple pair of trousers be on trend and comfortable? Absolutely! As the Spring season gets in full swing these soft as butter, stretch wide pants have become my go to uniform. Whether teamed with a soft cable cardi and brogues or a simple tee and denim jacket they fit the bill every time.

TIP! Make sure you get the length right… wide leg trousers need to be drapey and fall over your shoe. If you can’t sew get friendly with a good local seamstress.

Totally frilled!

When you don’t want to look like you’ve made too much effort but you want to impress then the frilled denim shirt really comes into its own. More than a basic shirt but with all the laid back luxe of denim (with on trend frills) this shirt teamed with wide leg trousers or a pleated skirt and white pumps will take you out for unrestricted coffees with your friends and is perfect for Zoom get together’s.

TIP! Denim is a neutral fabric and works with any colour palette or print. Try with animal prints, stripes and florals.

Cosy knit

Each season we are lucky enough to find a few of those “Buy now… Wear forever” pieces that instantly fit into your wardrobe as if they’ve always been there. This cute frilled sweater is certainly one of them. In the softest shade of opal it feels like a hug .. soft, cosy and with enough fashion detail to make it an instant wardrobe update.

TIP! You really don’t need to wash jumpers every time you wear them. Air sweaters by hanging on a hanger outside. This will prolong its life and stop it losing.
