Let’s get jubilant for the Jubilee

With cracking flags and sparkling fireworks, the Jubilee is almost here. We’ve heard talk of the event for months now, garden parties in the planning, street parties arranged, it’s time to celebrate. We’ll all have our fingers crossed for glorious sunshine, but what to wear on such an historic occasion? Don’t worry. We’ve got a selection of gorgeousness to share, and we’ll take a look at the Queen’s iconic style along the way.

Our Gracious Queen

The Jubilee marks 70 years of Elizabeth II being crowned our Queen. She’s been under the public eye pretty much every day since her coronation in 1952. Now, even by our standards, that’s a lot of outfits. Many were designed by Norman Hartnell, including her amazing wedding dress which she had to pay for with ration coupons.

Over the years the Queen has shown a penchant for blocks of colour. And she’d not afraid to go bold. We love her classic looks and stunning hat collection. So, while we’re all wondering what carefully curated outfit she’ll wear for this Jubilee, let’s take a look at our outfits.

Feel 100% patriotic in red, white and blue

For us, it’s got to be red, white and blue. We’ve got some lovely looks to enjoy a casual family BBQ, or a full on street party. Pare our red linen overshirt with our striped hidden support vest and cropped Perfect Fit jeans for a cool, casual look that’s easy to wear while handing out the sausages. Pop with trainers or sandals to keep feet happy all day long.

Dress to Impress

If dresses are more your thing, how about our blue print shift dress? Lightweight, cool and perfect to pack, it’s a great  holiday choice. It’s also lovely and comfy if you’re hosting a garden party and pinning up bunting. Or how about our pretty mock wrap dress in a red ditsy print? The soft stretchy jersey fabric is so easy to wear whatever your Jubilee plans are.

Relax and join in the fun

Lucky enough to be invited to a garden party? Then turn up looking fab in our 7/8 length trousers in royal blue and red striped top. Easy to wear they bridge the gap between casual with a dressy touch. And if you’re sure you can dodge a splodge of tomato sauce from a burger, our broderie anglais skirt is a great shout. Team with sandals and our embroidered t-shirt and you’ve got style nailed.

Create a right royal welcome

Planning your own garden party? Then we have everything you need to make the outdoors fit for a Queen. Take a look at our blog on all about cushions for comfort, rugs for warmth and throws to keep the party going into the evening. And don’t forget the durable jug to keep the drinks flowing and pretty matching bowls and plates for nibbles and snacks. With everything arranged, all that’s to say is enjoy and Happy Jubilee!
